How Much Will He Clothe You?

Matthew 6:28-30

Adding on to what was shared by a fellow “Flocker”😅, in Deuteronomy 8:2, on “Remaining in the fire until he brings you out of it”, it reminded me of Matthew 6:28-30. Imagine God taking the time to dress the flowers? Imagine how he could clothe you as his child? Genesis 1:27, says he made us in his likeness, so how much more will he clothe you, since he has made you so precious! Deuteronomy 8:2, reminds us that the wilderness is not paradise and we want to leave immediately - valid!! But we opt to leave not understanding that we need to go through the wilderness at times, for God to teach us lessons or for him to properly clothes us for the next chapter(s) of our lives. If we look at how God has clothed each and every flower with such detail and beauty!!( A song by Elevation Worship &Maverick City, says “if he dresses the lillies with beauty and splendour, how much more will he clothe you?!) Imagine how much more is he, clothing and moulding you in the mist of the wilderness, as his child who has been created in his likeness. Our journey of salvation is not easy but God reassures is in Psalm 23:4 - though we may walk in the valley of the shadow of death, we should fear no evil, for he is with us. As heartbreaking, frustrating and painful as the wilderness is, let us remind ourselves that we are being clothed, with more than just the beauty and splendour of the lillies.

Look how the wild flowers grow: they do not work or make clothes for themselves. 29 But I tell you that not even King Solomon with all his wealth had clothes as beautiful as one of these flowers. 30 It is God who clothes the wild grass—grass that is here today and gone tomorrow, burned up in the oven. Won't he be all the more sure to clothe you? What little faith you have!

Remain in the fire until He brings you out of it

Is there ever joy in suffering? Why do we find it so difficult to remain in seasons of suffering? Why is our first response often to ask God to take us out of the fire? Perhaps it is because we struggle to see that even in suffering, God can still be working. Not every suffering is directly caused by God, but no suffering is beyond His ability to use for His purposes. Sometimes the enemy may attack, but God remains sovereign, and even in the things we do not understand, He can refine us, strengthen us and draw us closer to Him. Deuteronomy 8:2 reminds us of the Israelites and the forty years they spent in the wilderness. The wilderness was difficult. They complained, they doubted, they longed for Egypt, and they questioned God. Yet God used those forty years to humble them, test them and reveal what was in their hearts. He taught them dependence. He gave them manna daily and showed them that they could not live by what they had known before, but had to trust Him for their daily bread. Even Jesus, in His deepest agony in the garden, asked the Father if there was another way, yet surrendered His will and said, “Not my will, but yours, be done.” There was agony, but there was also obedience. There was suffering, but there was purpose. And perhaps that is what we forget. We want God to take us out of the fire, when sometimes He is using the fire to purify us. We want the storm to end, when perhaps He is teaching us to keep our eyes fixed on Him in the middle of it. We want the wilderness to be over, when perhaps He is teaching us to depend on Him one day at a time. So, remain in the fire. Cry if you need to. Ask God for strength. Tell Him that it hurts. But do not run from the work He may be doing in you. Let Him refine you. Let Him prune you. Seek Him in the suffering. Eat your daily bread. Keep your eyes on Christ. There can be joy in suffering, not because suffering itself is good, but because we know that God is with us in it and that He can use even the hardest seasons for His glory and our growth. Cast Your Burdens Unto Him

God lately has been reminding me of my early years of getting to know him. I’ve found myself remembering songs we used to sing at 6/7 years old. Today as I was reading Matthew 11. Verse 28 struck me so much because I’ve been in a difficult season, one I thought I would never find myself in but the word is keeping me afloat. I even remember the song by Joyous Celebration - You sent your word. There’s a verse that says “…my burdens were so heavy. I could not find no rest. But Jesus you came and you set me free…” and I realised that the burdens I’ve been carrying - some old, some new, have been so heavy because I failed to cast them unto him. So this scripture beloved, simply reminds us that we shouldn’t be carrying heavy burdens alone, when we have a Saviour who is willing to carry them for us. At first I thought to myself “but God you know all the T’s I’ve crossed and all the i’s I’ve dotted, and the Lord said that, “you can’t cast your burdens unto me, then still hold onto them. You can’t cast your burdens unto me then come back to fetch them and carry them on your own. When you cast your burdens unto me, let them go and I will carry them FOR you, not WITH you. Amen

Daniel 3:24-29

Victory Belongs To Him

The story of the 3 Hebrew men is such a beautiful depiction of the glory of God. When I read that story for the first time, I immediately concluded that the fire was DEFINITELY going to turn them into charred meat. What i failed to realise is fire itself was created by God. So as much as the fire was created or intended to kill and destroy the boys, in this case but the fire understood that its creator is commanding that these men will leave this fire. Not only will they leave this fire but they will leave it, unharmed!! It even says in verse 27, “… who had not been harmed by the fire. Their hair was not singed, their clothes were not burned, and there was no smell of smoke on them.” Another example is Moses when he parted the Red Sea. The power wasn’t the staff he held in his hand or Moses’s might but the sea obeyed its Creator!!!!!!! We all know the sea has barriers. There’s a starting point and an end point, that God commanded himself, during the time of creation in Genesis but when the Israelites had to pass, through Moses, God commanded the sea to part and the sea obeyed its creator!! All in all brethren, we need to understand that even the circumstances that surround our lives and at times consume us, at some point will bow to God. I think our biggest challenge as believers is that we make the trials and tribulations that we go through, our own. We take ownership and say “ohh this problem of mine, Ohh one thing about me I will lie, etc…” of which these trials and tribulations, at some point, when God approves, will bow at the sound of the trumpets because they have no business being in our lives forever. We need to understand that God governs our lives and whatever he speaks over us, no one will ever say otherwise because everything - nature, the animals, the elements of the Earth, US!! Submit to him. Amen.

Romans 12:12 NKJV

When Life is Lifing....

As humans, we often become so focused on the struggles we are facing and everything we are going through in the present moment. We can spend too much time sitting in a difficult season, focusing on all the negative things it has brought so far, that we begin to wonder, “What more could possibly go wrong?” But Romans 12:12 reminds us of three things we should do when life is lifing around us. 1. Rejoice in hope To rejoice in hope is to find gladness and confidence in knowing that God will fulfil His promises. If we know what God has promised us and trust what He has in store for us, then we should learn to embrace the waiting season. We can wait joyfully and with hope, knowing that in His perfect timing, God will fulfil what He has promised. Sing a new song daily. Choose joy. Be grateful that you have been given another day and another season to look forward to what God can do in your life. James tells us to “consider it pure joy” when we face trials and tests. Our difficult seasons may not always feel joyful, but we can still choose to rejoice because we know who is with us in the middle of them. 2. Be patient in tribulation We have to learn to endure difficult seasons and trust that God has not abandoned us. Our suffering does not mean that we are too far from God or that He is absent from our lives. In fact, some of the most difficult seasons can become moments where we experience His presence, strength and faithfulness in ways we never have before. Being patient in tribulation means continuing to trust God even when we cannot see the outcome. It means holding on when everything around us tells us to give up. 3. Never stop praying We are called to be steadfast and devoted in prayer. Pray daily. Pray when things are going well, and pray when everything feels like it is falling apart. Thank God for the good, but also learn to thank Him in the difficult seasons. Thank Him for the strength He has given you. Thank Him for carrying you through the things you thought would break you. Thank Him that even in the midst of trials and tribulations, you are still standing. Prayer reminds us that we do not have to carry our seasons alone. Let us strive to live a Romans 12:12 life every day. Let us not become so focused on the season that we forget the God who is with us in it. Instead, let us rejoice in hope, remain patient in tribulation, and continue steadfastly in prayer. And when we look back one day, may we be able to say, “It was difficult, but God was with me. I did not understand it, but He carried me through it. I made it out because His grace sustained me.” Rejoice in hope. Be patient in tribulation. Never stop praying. That is the Romans 12:12 life.
