FlockStudy is a prayer accountability and devotional community. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it's used. We only collect what's needed to run the app — we don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
What we collect
- Account details — your username, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Prayer requests and commitments — the content of any prayer request you post, and which requests you've committed to pray for. You can mark a request anonymous, which hides your identity from other members on that request.
- Blog posts and devotions — content submitted by approved writers, along with the author's username and submission date.
- Push notification subscription — if you enable notifications, your browser gives us a subscription endpoint and encryption keys so we can deliver reminders. This contains no personal content, only what's needed to route a notification to your device.
- In-app notifications — records of alerts sent to you within the app (e.g. "someone committed to pray for your request"), so you can view your notification history.
What we don't do
- We don't run analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
- We don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
- We don't share your prayer requests outside the app unless you choose to share them yourself.
How we use your information
Your account details let you sign in and personalize your dashboard. Prayer request and commitment data powers the core features of the app — showing you what to pray for and tracking your prayer streak. We send transactional emails (welcome messages, password resets, prayer commitment confirmations) via a third-party email delivery service (SMTP2GO), which processes your email address only to deliver these messages on our behalf.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. It doesn't track you across other websites and isn't used for advertising. If you don't accept cookies, you won't be able to stay logged in.
Your choices
- You can edit or delete your prayer requests and blog/devotion submissions at any time from within the app.
- You can disable push notifications from your device or browser settings at any time.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us using the details below.
