He Has Been Given All Authority.
Ephesians 6:13
Why do we allow the enemy to convince us that we are defeated, that we cannot overcome, that our sin is too great, or that our thoughts define who we are? The enemy may tempt us, deceive us and place thoughts in our minds, but he does not have the final say over our lives. We belong to God. Through Christ, we can take our thoughts captive and bring them into obedience to Him. So may we not wake up each day agreeing with the lies of the enemy, but instead reminding ourselves of what God has already spoken. Whether we are battling habitual sin, addiction, fear, anxiety, or anything else that keeps us bound, may we never believe that we are without hope or that we cannot overcome. Christ has already won the victory. The enemy's end has already been determined, and our hope is in the One who has all authority.

Scripture
Therefore put on the full amour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Ulihlathi Lethu uThixo
UThixo uyamthwala umntu wakhe kwaye soze amshiye. Asinanto xa singenaye, kwaye xa kuthe kwaphalala amandla, uThixo uyasithwala. Uzungamncami ke uThixo ngenxa yeemeko zehlabathi. Kodwa uzukhumbule ukuba yena ungamanzi obomi.

Revelation 2-3 (The seven churches)

Is your lamp filled with oil?
As children of the living God, we can testify of all the good things He has done in our lives. We can speak of how, just like the Israelites, He brought us out of the wilderness. We can speak of the refining He has done in us through the fire, and of learning to keep our eyes fixed on Him in the midst of the storm. We can speak of finding joy in suffering, peace in the midst of chaos, and the peace that surpasses all understanding. But the question is, how are we living our daily lives? This is not to say that we are not bound to sin, because we are human and were born into a sinful nature. But as disciples of Christ, we are called to pick up our cross daily and walk with Him. As we live in these last days, we are reminded to prepare, because the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. So, is our lamp full? Is there oil? When we look at Revelation 2–3, we see different spiritual conditions. People who are faithful, people who have become lukewarm, people who have compromised, and people who have grown distant from God. And it makes me ask, am I fighting against sin, or have I become comfortable with it? Am I fleeing from what God tells me to flee from, or am I making room for the things of this world? Am I carrying my cross? Am I praying? Am I making time for Jesus? Because as much as we can open our mouths and speak about Christ, as much as we can point to all the things He has done for us, does the life we live testify of Him? When people look at us, do they see God in us, or do they see someone who has become comfortable with the world?

He breaks you in order to make you.
Luke 5:4–11 teaches us that when Jesus calls us to trust and obey Him even when based on our experiences things have not worked out. He can turn an empty net into an overflowing one, and an ordinary life into a life of purpose.

A Revelation
As Christians, as people who consider ourselves followers of Christ and people after God’s heart, we cannot pick and choose which parts of Scripture we want to focus on and which parts we want to ignore. We cannot embrace the promises of God while turning our backs on the warnings, the call to repentance, and the preparation for the coming of Christ simply because they make us uncomfortable. “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” (Matthew 16:26). This is why I am sharing this. For months, I have carried what I believe was a revelation placed on my heart concerning the wedding banquet, and I remained quiet because I was afraid of how people would receive it. But what good is it for me to please the world and, in doing so, neglect what God has placed on my heart? We are living in a world where we are witnessing the killing and persecution of Christians, geographical catastrophes and devastation in different parts of the world, and many things that remind us of the warnings Jesus gave concerning the last days. We cannot simply look away from these things or remove Revelation from our Bibles because we would rather hear only about prosperity and blessing. We cannot nitpick Scripture. If we leave out the call to prepare the way, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, then it becomes easy to become comfortable in sin. It becomes easy to delay repentance. It becomes easy to live as though the Bridegroom is not coming. The wedding banquet reminds us that an invitation has been given, but we are also called to be prepared.
